Senior Marketing Manager - Novation

Based: High Wycombe / Hybrid
Term: Full time
Salary: To £60000 pa + £5k OTE + excellent benefits

The Senior Marketing Manager knows exactly what our customers need, and owns the representation of our products in the market. They vouch for the customer, own the customer journey end-to-end, and champion that across the business. The Marketing Manager also owns Novations’s marketing strategy, with the goals of maximising conversion, NPS and customer lifetime value. The ideal candidate will have current or recent experience in the MI sector.

The role will ensure product and marketing roadmaps are aligned. They live and breathe our customers’ wants and needs and own our messaging – ensuring our products are always represented in the best possible way.

The Senior Marketing Manager will work to ensure Marketing’s and Product’s expectations – e.g., business cases, forecasts etc – are aligned and justified based on data. They represent the customer, their interests, and their market, and know exactly where our customers are and what they need to hear.

Responsibilities include:

  • Being the expert on our customers, and beyond – this person knows exactly how to talk to our customers and what they want to hear, and drives market research activity to learn what we don’t know
  • Being the expert on the markets we work in, and how we stack up vs the competition as a brand and as marketers, delivering research and making the results as useful for the team as possible
  • Communicating product feature-benefits to our customers and prospects in way that truly resonates with them and drives action.
  • Ownership of Marketing’s collaboration with Novation’s product strategy and roadmap development
  • Representation of Marketing among product and engineering teams
  • Ownership of product messaging, key pieces of copy and other marketing deliverables
  • Ownership of marketing’s contribution to the forecasting process for Novation – what should our marketing targets be and what are we likely to achieve?
  • Ownership of Novation’s customer journey – are we doing the best thing for the customer at every stage of the funnel?
  • Working with our marketing analyst to report on actual outcomes – how do we know we’ve done the best thing for our customers at each point of the funnel? How does that compare to expectation?
  • Working with Sales teams to create sales enablement materials
  • Contribution to definition and upholding of the Novation brand
  • Contribution to Novation’s campaign roadmap, and in particular building go-to-market plans to meet Marketing, Product and Sales’ shared expectations

The ideal candidate:

  • More than three years’ experience in brand marketing, product marketing or product management gained in the MI sector
  • Track record of delivering inspiring, benefit-driven messaging that shows that they truly understand their customers
  • Great copywriter, who knows what their customers want to hear, and how to use their brand to talk to them in an inspiring way
  • Loves the numbers, and feels at home working with complex and diverse data sets, with a track record of extracting intelligence and can create strategy and action off the back of it
  • Clear experience working where product and marketing meet – vouching for the customer’s aspirations and knowing how to talk about technology to a creative customer. The ideal candidate can help our product team understand what we need to be able to say about our product, and what a Novation experience looks and feels like
  • Obsessed with the detail. Marketing technical products in a creative market means it is particularly important that we clearly and consistently show our products in the best and most accurate way, and to the right customer
