Responsibilities

We’re looking for someone equal parts tenacious and pragmatic, who will apply their legal and commercial savvy towards making strong judgement calls that protect the company, its employees, and its clients. As a Senior Legal Counsel at Wheely, you will:

• Deal with all requests from law enforcement and government agencies;
  
• Assess and monitor company compliance with legislation—eg. GDPR, ePrivacy, anti-corruption laws—including providing any relevant training to Wheely employees;
  
• Take responsibility for all contentious matters involving Wheely’s business in Russia, from pre-action through any court actions;
• Register and defend Wheely’s intellectual property.

Requirements

• An assertive defender who believes strongly in the right to privacy;
• At least 10 years of relevant legal experience;
  
• Advocate status with rights of audience to appear before all Russian courts (criminal and civil);
  
• A thorough understanding of Russian criminal and public/administrative law, particularly concerning the rights and powers of public authorities;
  
• Comprehensive expertise in data protection and privacy laws (both Russian and GDPR).
