Senior Hardware Engineer

Golden, United States’s Space & Sensors team is responsible for the development of unique RF and acoustic-based sensing systems, such as radar, radiometer and sonar, from architecture through implementation. The team is also responsible for the  development of corresponding spacecraft and constellations in support of’s Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our existing forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join a cutting edge, multidisciplinary team to help us execute complex development programs.  Applications include, but are not limited to, weather and climate remote sensing, navigation and situational awareness, as well as enabling the most capable weather intelligence platform in the world.  As a Senior Hardware Engineer at, you will play a critical role in hardware and sensor development through all phases of the development cycle: requirements gathering and definition, design, development, prototyping, implementation, testing, integration, calibration, and documentation.

What you’ll do:

  • Execute engineering tasks including the analysis, design, development, and testing of next-generation radar and radiometer systems
  • Contribute to and/or lead the development of various digital designs including requirements development, test plans/test cases to meet radar system needs.
  • Present design status and risk assessment to program management and program systems engineers.

What you bring:

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 years relevant experience engineering (multiple roles available with varying levels of experience)
  • Experience with schematic & printed circuit board design tools (i.e. Altium) including GHz digital signal integrity analysis and printed circuit board layout implementing high speed buses like JESD204b, PCI Express and DDR3/4 interfaces..
  • Experience with FPGA designs for Digital Signal Processing DSP, including GHz sampling,  filtering, up & down conversion, and implementing interfaces  into ADC, DAC, & DDR3/4 memory.
  • Experience with RF and/or sonar systems or a can do attitude to learn new skills
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills and ability to work well collaboratively and independently


  • Experience with Zynq and Zynq Ultrascale+ or equivalent SoC/MPSoC processors
  • VPX experience
  • Electrical systems engineering experience
  • Experience working with complex systems involving multi-disciplinary technical teams with coupled hardware and software development for space, aircraft, and/or unmanned platform applications
  • Experience in a startup environment
