Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance

Job Overview

Corporate Finance sits at the center of the broader finance team to help Coursera’s leadership and board gain financial visibility and insights on the business. This team runs Coursera’s financial processes, including our Annual Planning process, monthly forecasts, management packages and board presentations. Corporate Finance sets the parameters and forecast processes for the finance team, supports any Investor Relations needs to help tell our story through numbers, and partners with other key operational teams on the moving pieces that impact our financial outlook (tax, accounting, treasury, facilities, intl). 

The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Director of Corporate Finance and collaborate with our global finance team in the US.  You will manage successful budgeting and forecasting processes, deliver strategic & valuable insights and help scale our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and improve key financial processes, including forecasting, budget planning, performance reporting, long-range planning, cash flow, and balance sheet forecasting
  • Collaborate closely with finance, investor relations (IR), and data insights teams to manage and drive key financial, investor metrics, track team & company-wide trends, identify opportunities, provide recommendations, and collaborate across all levels
  • Apply an analytical approach to influence strategic decision-making, with a focus on long-term financial planning
  • Provide financial reporting, analysis, and commentary to important partners including Coursera’s Board, management team, and investors
  • Support ad hoc projects and help define systems improvements to support Coursera’s growth
  • Assist with managing IBM Planning Analytics planning software

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant finance experience, including experience in corporate finance in the technology industry
  • Experience with Excel & strong business modeling and analytical skills 
  • Experience leading complex workstreams and cross-functional efforts such as managing a yearly planning process
  • Demonstrated history of building  financial statements as well as accounting and corporate finance concepts
  • Demonstrated history with financial planning processes and business systems such as IBM Analytics or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field 
  • Experience with IBM analytics (Looker is a plus)
  • Experience in enterprise SaaS technology and/or consumer internet
  • Ability to handle large volumes of data, drive insights through analysis, and communicate to business partners
  • Intellectual curiosity, agility to navigate ambiguous circumstances, strategic thinker, strong writing and presentation skills

Compensation

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $92,000 and $200,000 for all US candidates. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
