Role

We are looking for a passionate, entrepreneurial, and creative senior designer for our product design team. If you are looking for an opportunity to apply your design expertise and lead innovation in the fight against climate change, then this is the job for you.
As a senior designer, you will be a generalist capable of performing user research, concept design, prototyping, or usability testing. You will need to be able to see a project from start to finish and deliver high quality and value. You will need to work both collaboratively with others, and independently with guidance from more senior team members. As a early member of our team, you will help shape our growing team's design practices and systems.

Your experience designing products that grapple with complex ideas is critical. Your approach to design includes working closely and gathering feedback through partnerships with other designers, marketers, product managers, and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design great products and user experiences
  • You have a design portfolio that demonstrates experience applying design theory, best practices, and various techniques to deliver software platforms and/or products.
  • Independently conduct user research and gathering useful data to improve user-centric design outcomes.
  • Take holistic ownership of the design process from strategy to screen. Ideate, design, and implement high-quality solutions.
  • Create assets, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups.
  • Make and deploy superficial changes to front-end applications (e.g., copy, styling, layout adjustments). Pay attention to detail.

  • Support product development
  • Advocate for design-thinking that ensures the products we build solve real problems for real users.
  • Take pragmatic decisions balancing business outcomes, product wins, technical constraints, and design excellence.
  • Contribute to the team by owning the design process. Work outside of your discipline to help the team succeed.

  • Be a team player
  • Collaborate with colleagues from diverse professional backgrounds (e.g., science, tech, product, marketing, ...).
  • Remain open-minded. Welcome diverse perspectives and encourage others to generate and explore new ideas.
  • Learn forever and nurture those around you.
  • Role model by inviting and freely giving well-intentioned, constructive feedback.

Qualifications

  • Mastery of design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
  • Extensive experience with web development languages (e.g., HTML, CSS).
  • Experience articulating advanced product design concepts and principles to non-experts.
  • Experience conducting user research and producing high-quality, relevant data.
  • Excellent communicator and cross-functional team builder.
  • Experience building strong relationships while working with a fully-remote, global team.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, outcome-oriented professional environment.
  • Passion for addressing climate change is critical.
  • Experience building new products and platforms is a strong plus.
  • Experience working in the climate technology space is a strong plus.
