Responsibilities
- Database Setup and Configuration Analysis
- Analyse Client’s current landscape, environment and setup
- Propose best practices for High-Availability, Backup and Recovery strategy and setup
- Perform setup, enhancements, and optimizations
- Perform End-Of-Life (EOL) MS SQL Server Upgrades
- Assess EOL database servers on suitability for upgrade
- Plan and perform upgrade including migration from EOL MS SQL Server instances to supported versions
- Propose and perform remediation plan for EOL MS SQL Server instances not suitable for upgrade
- Database Hardening Project
- Work with Client’s Cybersecurity team to perform server OS and/or MS SQL servers hardening.
- Perform Post-enhancement/Optimization Services
- Verify all databases are performing optimally as proposed
- Ensure periodic backups are completed successfully
- Monitor and enhance system performance, CPUs, Memory and Storage utilization
- Monitor and advise resolution for slow SQL query, locks, and blocks
- Monitor and resolve error
- Advise and further refine database design, configurations, auditing, and other potential issues
- Propose tools to assist client on database operations, management, and monitoring
- Progress Reporting is provided weekly status updates on the project progress including the monitoring and findings.
