BallotReady is searching for a Senior Business Development Representative to identify customers and book demos at the top of our sales funnel—and, as a result, join our team in working to mobilize voters and constituents to take action at every level of government.
Who We Are
BallotReady is an award-winning startup working to help every voter in America cast an informed vote on every race, every election. We create digital nonpartisan voter guides and build tools to help advocacy groups and campaigns inform and mobilize voters and constituents, powered by the most comprehensive database on every level of government.
We’ve worked with organizations such as Snapchat, Tiktok, Spotify, and the Miami Heat to inform and turn out over 35 million voters. Now, we’re focused on the local elections in 2023 and innovative methods for empowering communities to hold elected officials accountable and take effective action year-round.
What You’ll Do
The Senior Business Development Representative, who can be based anywhere in the U.S. and will report to BallotReady’s Sales Manager, is responsible for the following:
Who You Are
To succeed in this job, you must excel at:
Prospect Generation: You’ve spent 2-3 years as a Business Development Representative, and have a track record that speaks to your abilities. You can research prospects on your own and/or with digital prospecting tools. You’re skilled at writing clear, catchy, and compelling content. You can strategically tailor your writing to hook the people you’re hoping to engage. Additionally, you’ll have the ability to quickly qualify customers and book demos based on BallotReady’s ideal customer profile.
Data Organization & Analysis: You’re able to ensure information is up-to-date in a system by being organized and detail-oriented. You’re meticulous about ensuring that the important information about any deal is as up-to-date and accurate as possible because you know this is important to strategy. You can run experiments (e.g., A/B testing email subject lines) and analyze the resulting data to propose improvements.
Project Management & Strategy: You can create a high-level, long-term plan (e.g., one that spans several months) for achieving concrete goals, and build out that plan to include the many tasks, deadlines, and smaller pieces necessary for execution. You hold yourself accountable to the plans you’ve agreed on with your team, and are able to pivot when things change and your strategy needs to change, too.
Pluses, but not requirements for the job: technical knowledge of CRMs and sales product integrations.
