Position Summary:

We are searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Research Associate to support the development of novel nucleic acid therapeutics. We are looking for an individual who is excited to innovate a new class of programmable medicines. This individual will be responsible for hands-on cell biology work in the lab and is expected to bring scientific rigor and intellectual curiosity to their role. This individual will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment as part of a highly collaborative and rapidly growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and optimizing primary and immortalized cell lines
  • Delivering nucleic acids to cells with methods such as lipofection, electroporation, nucleofection, and viral transduction
  • Performing cell-based and nucleic acid-based assays such as flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, FISH, and RT-qPCR
  • Performing biochemical fractionation, nucleic acid isolation, and downstream functional genomics analyses
  • Designing, executing, troubleshooting, and analyzing experimental methods and findings
  • Effectively communicating experimental methods and findings in oral and written formats
  • Working independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. or M.S. in Biology or related field; ideally with 1+ years of experience
  • Significant experience and comfort with mammalian cell culture
  • Experience with flow cytometry and RT-qPCR is required
  • Experience with single molecule FISH, viral transduction, cellular fractionation is preferred
  • Handling multiple projects simultaneously to meet project timelines
  • Track record of careful and thoughtful execution of experiments and trouble-shooting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and rapidly growing biotech environment
