Overview
The FT has established commercial relationships with over 15,000 corporate, government and education customers globally. B2B customers are instrumental to the FT’s global growth strategy. The B2B team is also responsible for the licensing of the FT’s content through a variety of means, including syndication agreements with other publishers.
This highly successful business has a consistent track record of delivering double-digit revenue growth and impressive margins. The next chapter of success for the B2B business will involve continued growth of the core business plus accelerated growth through significant investment in new products and services. Evolving from a single- to a multi-product organisation will require fit-for-purpose systems and processes as well as a high degree of coordination and cooperation across B2B teams and other FT divisions.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Reporting Analyst to lead our B2B reporting efforts with excellent report-building and data visualisation skills to enhance the B2B Data Insight function further.
The B2B Reporting Analyst will support the B2B department (Marketing, Customer Success, Sales and Operations) in their reporting needs. The outputs you will develop will streamline and improve our current reporting suite to ensure we provide seamless first-class reporting that drives our decision-making.
We are looking for someone with excellent stakeholder management skills who can work with our wider business to deliver excellent reporting services and respond to the changing needs of the business. You will ensure the reports are consistent, designed to meet the needs of the audiences, streamlined operationally and contain a single source of the truth.
The Reporting Analyst will work closely with the centralised BI Reporting team and benefit from being part of the FT's large data/analytics community.
You will need to be passionate about data, have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and have an eye for detail to deal with a wide array of reporting requirements from all areas of B2B.
Our goal is to have you deliver reporting in a highly accurate, consistent and usable way, thus increasing the use of our reporting tools both through the increased use of reports and through the increased user self-service. The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running with the ability to understand the B2B data model and organisational context swiftly.
What you will be responsible for
Leading on building and deploying accurate reports using (but not limited to) SalesForce and Looker
Overseeing and supporting the redesign and restructure of the current B2B reporting
Overseeing and supporting the ongoing delivery of B2B reportingOverseeing and supporting the gathering of requirements, identification of data gaps, and aiding in the creation of new/modified report templates and building reporting solutions
Becoming the subject matter expert on FT B2B reports and reporting tools
Working with the wider B2B and BI Reporting teams to become an expert on the data feeding the reporting tools
Creating consistency across B2B by utilising and standardising the core definitions of key metrics and dimensions
Ensuring that accuracy and data quality output in all reports are met
Owning the day-to-day relationship with B2B report users
Working with key stakeholders to gather reporting requirements. Working with the wider BI Reporting team to build datasets to support the production of reports.
Exploring designing automated mechanisms to produce reports, minimising manual effort where possible
Providing technical expertise and support to the report users across B2B
Working with the wider BI team to ensure reporting outputs are consistent with our other data services.
Conducting testing and troubleshooting of B2B reports
Developing and updating appropriate supporting documentation.
You'll bring to the role....
Essential
Experience working as part of a reporting team, using modern reporting platforms and analytical tools (Looker, Tableau reporting etc.)
Proven experience using Salesforce CRM reporting tools
Proven SQL skills
Expert knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel
Good analytical skills, with experience in building and maintaining data reports
Have a passion for data visualisation
Ability to identify and map stakeholder reporting requirements and translate these into clear and engaging reports
Experience in productive engagement with multiple management levels across technical users and business units
Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively balance conflicting priorities.
The ability to manage stakeholders' expectations
Ability to work with limited supervision, using initiative to resolve most problems.
Exposure to working with a wide variety of data sets
Desirable
Advanced skills in using Looker and Salesforce or other analytics tools
Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic reports in a B2B environment
A high degree of commercial & operational awareness of data
Experience working in a subscription/media-based business
Educated to a degree level
