Quality Assurance Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The IDD Quality Assurance Specialist will provide support for quality, regulatory and compliance activities for assigned project/program and/or functional area(s) to ensure that services provided are in accordance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements and also provides ownership for the internal audit program and vendor qualification process, as well as implementation of LifePath Systems IDD Quality Management system, including training systems, procedures, and related activities.  Perform complex work in quality improvement, quality management, contract compliance, contract management and client rights/advocacy.  Conduct record reviews, attend committee meetings and conduct surveys as required.  Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal staff, staff of partner agencies, individuals receiving services and their families and the community in general.  Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education or related field or;
  • 4-6 years of experience in services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities/related conditions or equivalent education and experience.
  • Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

ESSENTIAL TASKS & STANDARDS

  • Perform complex work in the areas of quality improvement and compliance.
  • Develops forms and spreadsheets to improve program operations.
  • Assist with Medicaid benefits.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional and clinical documents, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or the community.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to present verbal information effectively to all levels of agency staff, customers and the community.
  • Proficient in creating, managing, manipulating, and analyzing Excel spreadsheets.
  • Proficient in creating Word and Adobe PDF documents.
  • Self-starter who works closely with all team members and takes initiative in completing tasks.
  • Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS

  • Must have valid Texas Driver License and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to complete all LifePath Systems training.
  • Must be able to provide at least 3 professional or educational references. 

BENEFITS

Salary Range: $40,000 -$44,000 per hour              

Shift Available:  8:00am - 5:00pm   Monday through Friday
