The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center is looking for a competent, self-motivated, and dynamic candidate to join the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) team at its headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka as Project and Service Delivery Manager.
The Project and Service Delivery Manager will be responsible for the delivery of services offered via ICT-managed business applications. At present, this includes SAP HANA, web applications and a data mart hosted on Azure. These applications are developed and maintained by external vendors and consultants.
Duties AND Responsibilities:
- Ensure the smooth delivery of services provided to the organization by business applications. This includes the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, supporting applications as well as reporting and data visualization systems.

- IWMI outsources the development and operation of these services, so the position holder will have to carry out the following tasks:
- Manage and drive the selection of local as well as international vendors and service partners
- Ensure implementation occurs in a timely manner
- Ensure that change management processes are in place and followed
- Collaborate with the other sections within the ICT unit as well as with other departments to carry out tasks within the position.
- Adapt business continuity planning for processes supported by business applications.
- Work with internal and external auditors as well as the Head of ICT to ensure that IWMIs business applications are secure and fit for purpose.
- Ensure the business applications and their underlying technologies and platforms are kept up to date with proactive upgrade planning.
- Drafting budget plans for service delivery and project implementation.
- Develop training programs for users of the business applications in conjunction with the Human Resources and other departments as well as external vendors and consultants.
Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- University degree in a related field or master's in business administration.
- Two to 3 years' experience in a similar role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Good command of English (both written and spoken).
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Power BI will be highly beneficial.
- A strong background in project management with a focus on business application implementation and upgrade projects.
- Ability to bridge the gap between external consultants and internal stakeholders.
- Good teamwork skills and the ability to coordinate work with other departments.
- Ability to manage and prioritize a varied workload and meet deadlines.
