The Role / Position Overview

As the Performance Marketing Specialist, you’ll support the Digital and Performance Marketing team in developing and implementing paid media campaigns across Paid Social, Paid Search, Programmatic, Online Video, plus Affiliates and SEO. You’ll manage a portfolio of campaigns across multiple events, ensuring that performance goals are met whilst proactively managing key stakeholder relationships. You will analyse performance and maximise the return on investment of digital marketing campaigns spanning paid social, paid search, programmatic display and more. You will support the Senior Performance Marketing Strategist in A/B testing initiatives and embrace new technologies to advance digital transformation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Report into the Senior Performance Marketing Manager.

  • Support the Senior Performance Marketing Strategist in the planning, activation and analysis of Paid Media campaigns across Paid Social, Paid Search, Programmatic, Online Video, plus Affiliates and SEO.

  • Optimise campaigns daily to ensure budgets are invested as effectively as possible, delivering maximum performance and ROI.

  • Responsible for operating within a set budget, and ensuring all budget is signed off by Senior Performance Marketing Manager.

  • Regular analysis and reporting on campaign performance.

  • Stakeholder management – internal and external – informing on current campaign performance as well as future opportunities

  • Liaise with other team members to ensure plans are achievable and on track

  • Identify new areas for growth

  • Support the Senior Performance Marketing Strategist in A/B testing initiatives. 

Required Skills / Experience 

  • A passion for news and media and an affinity for the FT’s values of: integrity, ambition, curiosity, trust, inclusion and subscriber focus.

  • 1-2 years paid media experience (either client or agency experience) activating campaigns across paid search, paid social, programmatic.

  • Copywriting for and creative briefs that will deliver against our KPIs.

  • Analytical capability with experience of using a range of analytics tools

  • A ‘test and learn’ approach, comfortable with initiative and the ability to propose new ideas and solutions

  • Commercially-minded and confident in establishing and measuring business metrics, as well as managing and forecasting budgets. 

  • Proactive attitude and thrives off working in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

  • A confident communicator and natural collaborator, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
