Mechanical Operator
We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for multiple Mechanical Operator position available for a motivated individual to join our team working in locations covering Devon and Cornwall. Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £29,688 - £33,350 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role
As the Mechanical Craftsperson you will carry out planned work as derived from both Lean/RCM and maintenance scheduled activities. Ultimately to provide services of the required quality and quantity, in a sustainable manner that meets the required internal and external customer service standards, whilst protecting the environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Carry out planned maintenance on mechanical equipment as defined by both Lean/RCM and maintenance scheduled activities to the highest standard
- Working on assets on Waste Water Treatment sites and Sewage Pumping Stations to fault find, repair and maintain a wide variety of equipment including pumps, gearboxes and specialist treatment process machinery
- Manufacture and fabricate parts and equipment
- Working in confined spaces as required
- Work with other disciplines in a workshop/mobile field team
- Development of new skills both in and outside of your core discipline
- Follow the business and departmental rules associated with workflow and management
- Working in a manner that keeps you and those around you safe
- Asset repair and maintenance as scheduled by the scheduling team or your manager or his/her nominee
- Keeping our customers updated with activities which may impact on their processes
- Working with or in close proximity to chemicals in accordance with COSHH, QMS Procedures and relevant Health and Safety standards
What we are looking for:
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English and a Science subject
- A completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline
- Experience working with Waste Water treatment processes and maintaining Waste Water Treatment Works and Sewage Pumping Stations assets
- Experience of delivering a maintenance service to an internal or external customer
- Able to deliver an effective maintenance service in both workshop and site environments
- Have the ability to fault find utilising a structured and analytical approach through to the repair of complex and specialist items of mechanical equipment
- Able to work under pressure to deliver within tight deadlines
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- A flexible approach to working is required. This may include future participation in a standby rotation Full UK driving licence
Electricians
We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for multiple Electrical Craftsperson's to join our team's working in locations covering Devon and Cornwall . You will join us on a full-time permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a salary of £29,688 - £33,350 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role:
As our Electrical Craftsperson, you will carry out planned work as derived from maintenance scheduled activities on operational assets, primarily within Waste Water Treatment & Sewage Pumping Stations. Ultimately to provide services of the required quality and quantity, in a sustainable manner that meets the required internal and external customer service standards, whilst protecting the environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivery of quality support using expertise and experience in your discipline, using electrical, control and process systems which will help to maintain or minimise the risk and impact to our Customers
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance for water and sewage treatment works process control and electrical systems and diagnosing faults on all aspects of asset control and automation
- Liaising with all staff affected by any work undertaken
- The requirement to compile or update any site engineering documentation which enables Operational staff to carry out support and maintenance of the works systems
- Proactively support our internal customers in line with the South West Water “Pure” vision of Pure Water, Pure Services and Pure Environment
- Ability to plan, prioritise and carry out works to the satisfaction of the planned maintenance delivery system, Planned Maintenance Coordinator and the operations team as required
- Conforming and adhering at all times to current ISO, H&S systems, procedures and policies
- Delivery of cost effective improvements to assets and systems
What we are looking for:
- A completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline
- 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and Science at grade C or above
- A full UK driving license is required
- Industrial/Commercial experience
- ONC/HNC/ BTEC or equivalents in a relevant discipline is desirable
- Experience working with Drinking and/or Waste Water treatment processes is desirable
- Able to deliver an effective maintenance service in both workshop and site environments
- Compliant with current IEE Regs 18th Edition
- City & Guilds Inspect and Test 2391-10
- Knowledge of working with Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Maintenance Technician
We currently have multiple positions as a Maintenance Technician for motivated individuals to join our teams based between Devon and Cornwalll. Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,530 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role
As the Maintenance Technician, you will maintain and calibrate regulatory monitoring equipment deployed within the Waste Water Treatment Works, Sewage Pumping Stations and Sewerage Network.
The primary purpose as part of the Waste Water Services Maintenance Team will be to interact with both fixed and hand held devices on SWW sites and the operational staff who use their outputs
What you’ll be doing:
- To be an integral part of a dedicated team of multi skilled Technicians delivering set to work activities, optimisation, reactive maintenance and Planned Preventative Maintenance activities on South West Water’s instrumentation
- Delivery of quality support using your expertise and experience of instrumentation
- Using electrical, control and process system knowledge to both optimise the systems and minimise the risk/impact to both our internal and external key stakeholders regarding failing assets
- Proactively support our internal key stakeholders
- Conform and always adhere to current ISO, H&S systems, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and company policies
- Delivery of cost-effective improvements to regulatory assets and systems
- A willingness to undertake such training as is required to ensure continued improvement of technical skills and Health and Safety awareness remains extant
- Comply with all business rules relating to delivery of and feedback regarding all maintenance activity
What we are looking for:
- Time served apprenticeship supported by relevant formal qualifications e.g., City and Guilds, EAL, BTEC, ONC/HNC/HND
- C&G 2391/2392 Inspection and Testing or equivalent, or willing to gain this qualification
- C&G 2382-18 Level Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671-2018, or willing to gain this qualification
- Industrial/Commercial/Water industry experience required
- Self-motivated and willing to take responsibility for all aspects of work delivery
- Good communications skills and be able to work on your own but also as part of a larger team
- A flexible approach to working hours
- A flexible approach to travel
- A full UK driving license is required
