Overview

The Marketing Event Intern will work closely with the local Marketing Manager on marketing events and promotions tied to local construction and sponsorships through event activations, social media, and email marketing.

We are looking for someone to join our marketing team from May through August. This internship is part-time, up to 20 hours each week that includes a combination of remote work, in office work, and events

What you'll be doing

• Prepping for events
• Setting up of the Ting booth on location and take down
• Communicating the Ting fiber service to the public and responding to questions
• Compiling unanswered questions or issues from events in a clear and concise format
• Supporting and organizing with external vendors
• Tracking event sales and interactions
• Working with the Marketing Manager to strategize and create communication campaigns for events
• Building social media campaigns to promote events and engage the community
• Writing engaging email marketing communications

Skills you will bring

• Customer service/event coordination/marketing experience
• Understanding of social media platforms and standard methodologies
• Friendly, outgoing personality with willingness to talk about our service at our booth
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to creatively solve problems as they arise
• Be self-motivated and excited to initiate and work independently
• Commit to being prompt, professionally dressed, and prepared every day
• Must be able to work weekends and evenings
• Must provide own transportation to events in the Charlottesville area
• Able to lift promotion related items, up to 30 lbs

The hourly rate range for this position is $18/hr to $20/hr. Range shown in $USD for US residents. Other countries will differ. Range may vary on a number of factors including, but not limited to: location, experience and qualifications.
