Third Space Learning is hiring a

Marketing Communications Manager

London, United Kingdom
Full-Time

Our story

For too long, tutoring has been the preserve of a fortunate minority. We seek to address that by working in partnership with schools to provide additional one to one maths tutoring to the pupils in the UK (and more recently in the US) who need it most. Our mission is to ensure every student is able to access great quality maths tuition to help them succeed in, and love, their learning.

We do this by recruiting passionate and enthusiastic undergraduates and graduates from emerging markets - namely India and Sri Lanka - and providing them with extensive training and development to form a global tutor community capable of delivering personalised and accessible online tuition to schools at scale.

We’ve built a strong reputation for creating and sharing valuable free maths content for teachers, leading to a large global email marketing database of over 140,000 teachers. This is in addition to the 5,000+ teachers in our database who currently use Third Space Learning’s tutoring programmes in their schools.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a creative and analytical Marketing Communications Manager to oversee the end-to-end communications journey across both acquisition and retention.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Marketing to manage a compelling, data-driven multi-channel communications strategy (including email, in-app messaging and direct mail) that engages our prospects, drives new leads, delights our customers and grows our customer base.

You’ll also manage the Email Marketing Executive who will support you in the day-to-day execution of your strategy, including individual email campaign creation and reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Mapping out ideal communications journeys across acquisition and retention:
    • Welcoming new email subscribers
    • Building engagement with our free maths content
    • Demonstrating our authority as maths tutoring experts
    • Showcasing the value of our tutoring programmes
    • Driving new leads (new schools looking to sign up for our tutoring programmes)
    • Onboarding new customer schools
    • Encouraging customer engagement with our online tutoring platform and resources
    • Ensuring customer schools see the impact of the tutoring
    • Identifying customer champions
    • Driving customer retention and referrals
  • Creating half-termly communications plans to ensure we’re sharing the right content with our database at the right time
  • Identifying opportunities for intelligent marketing automation to effectively move our prospects down the funnel and increase customer engagement
  • Proactively review and analyse prospect and customer data to uncover insights and enable evidence-based, personalised campaigns.
  • Conducting regular market/user research and working closely with the sales, customer support and product teams to ensure we’re keeping our customers’ needs and challenges at the centre of our communications strategy
  • Provide direction to the Email Marketing Executive, who will focus on the day-to-day creation of email campaigns and email reporting

  • A university degree or strong relevant experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing/communications/CRM role
  • Experience using CRM/email marketing software
  • Demonstrable experience with marketing automation and creating efficient automated campaigns that meet or exceed their goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; this role requires somebody who can write clear, compelling copy that compels teachers to take action
  • Confidence with data analysis, including identifying patterns and trends and translating these into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Curiosity and a self-start nature with a passion to drive optimisation through quantitative and qualitative insight
  • Initiative and proactivity

We’d also love to find someone with...

  • Experience with Salesforce, Pardot and/or Intercom
  • Experience working with the UK schools market

Please apply if you meet at least some of these criteria and think you are a good fit for the role. The above criteria act as a guide as to the sort of experience that would set someone up for success in this role, but we’d love to hear from you if you think you have what it takes to give our customers the best possible communications experience, even if you don’t tick every box.
