About the Marketing Associate role

This is a great position for an early career marketing generalist who wants to join a fast growing company and learn about different facets of marketing. This role provides ongoing marketing support to our entire marketing team, with a focus on our Demand Generation and Product Marketing functions.

As a Marketing Coordinator at Float you will be working on a variety of projects ranging from content and social media to events and experiences.

Requirements

As Marketing Associate you will:

  • Create and deploy lifecycle marketing emails
  • Organize our webinars, including booking speakers, updating our landing pages and writing and sending engaging emails to boost attendance
  • Organize community events that are fun and on brand
  • Write blog content with support from our Product Marketing lead
  • Publish blogs and website content using CMS
  • Use templates to create blog and email images
  • Use templates to create social content
  • Keep internal Notion pages up to date with timely and important content
  • Update content and material with new features and copy
  • Coordinate with freelancers to create content
  • Post and engage with our community on social media
  • Create and deploy direct mail campaigns together with our in-house designer

An example of what your week-to-week might look like:

  • Attend our marketing team weekly sync to discuss the week’s priorities and identify any blockers or issues to be resolved
  • Organize and publish the week’s social media posts on LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Write and send our monthly customer newsletter
  • Write and publish a blog post that includes quotes from 5 different financial professionals
  • Book a private dinner for a community event
  • Pick up print materials from a local printer

You’ll be great in this role if:

  • You have a solid foundation in marketing. You have completed an internship and coursework in marketing and have some hands on experience in marketing such as social media management, content marketing, event marketing or demand gen.
  • You have strong writing skills. You write clearly and effectively and can write for a variety of channels from email to social media to long form blog content.
  • You have excellent organizational skills. You’re focused, organized, efficient and can ruthlessly prioritize. Bonus if you have experience using a project management tool like Trello or Asana.
  • You have superior attention to detail. You pride yourself on thoroughness and accuracy. You are a stickler for detail, especially when it comes to creating and reviewing copy.
  • You are adaptable. This role will require you to take on new responsibilities as Float grows - we’re looking for someone who is open to change and agile to new ways of working.
  • You are a fast learner. In this role, we expect you will be learning a lot about marketing and working in a fast paced startup. You are comfortable researching solutions and trying new tech, and taking feedback from your teammates to continually improve.
  • You’re an owner. You love taking on any task and driving it through to completion. You also love a challenge, and take great satisfaction in tackling it head on.
  • You are comfortable with marketing technology. You have some experience with the tools typically used on marketing teams, from WordPress to Canva to Hubspot or Asana.

This role won’t be a fit if:

  • You are uncomfortable with direct feedback
  • You prefer stability over change
  • You aren’t comfortable prioritizing your own to-do list
  • You are not a self-starter and do not like to work independently
  • You don’t like to work remotely or asynchronously
  • You don’t have a strong work ethic

Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role, and you strongly align with our values but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right candidate for this, or other future positions.
