Position Hours: 2-10:30pm
Location; Vista, CA Samtec/UCI location
Pay $23.00-$25.00 an hour, DOE
- This position is temporary. There is opportunity for full time status after an evaluation period and if the business needs align.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Assembly Manufacturing Technician collaborates with Opto-electronic packaging, test and process engineers on Mil-Aero grade optical interconnect components for applications in Space and other High Reliability/Harsh Environment systems. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, hands-on, detail oriented, goal driven and takes great pride in their work product.
About the General Responsibilities
• Run packaging assembly equipment, including but not limited to Flip Chip Bonders, Wire Bonders, Plasma Cleaners, adhesive dispensing and laser marking.
• Process product through the assembly line as indicated per travelers, drawings or work instructions.• Perform optical inspections and measurements of products to ensure quality requirements are met.• Enter pertinent data into log files and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for appropriate lot and data tracking.• Assist Production and Process Development Engineers in building complex Opto/Electronic interconnected products.• Provide feedback to engineering teams on equipment, product or process issues/improvements• Other duties as assigned
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:• Familiar with manufacturing processes that use Wire Bonders, Plasma Cleaners, Laser marking and Microscopes.• Knowledge of the direct SMT/Die Attach/Wire bond equipment operations are strongly preferred.• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite• Able to read technical drawings a plus• Must demonstrate excellent communications clearly through written and verbal means.• Be able to read, comprehend and execute complex instructions• Must possess positive, effective communication skills with the ability and desire to grow• Experience in semiconductor packaging assembly processes a plus• Good manual skill and micro-operation skills requiredExperience/Education• High School Diploma or GED required• Some college a plus• Technical certification or Associates degree preferred• 4+ years in opto/electronic semiconductor assembly preferred• Excellent manual dexterity and micro manipulation skills requiredDue to our government contracts and ITAR compliance, all candidates must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents.UltraComm supports a diverse workforce and is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity for all applicants and employees.
