Manager, Software Engineering

The Manager, Software Engineering leads a team in the development, enhancement, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support of business facing and internal application systems with a focus around building a robust API suite that is scalable and consumable by multiple channels in addition to continuing to mature our DevOps capabilities.  This includes legacy applications as well as web applications.  

  • Effectively manage a team of software & DevOps engineers, driving them to successfully deliver solutions that meet the business requirements on time and within budget.
  • Support small to medium deployments, configurations, and expansions of systems through analysis and customization. 
  • Work as part of a team to implement solutions that expand our use of technology across the organization in accordance with business objective.
  • Provide support for the efficient resolution of IT application related incidents and service requests.
  • Coordinate performance analysis, recommendations, and improvement for applications.
  • Responsible for responding to application support escalations which involve troubleshooting technical issues and resolving data/configuration issues.
  • Support internal and external application interfaces and data integrity across platforms.
  • Serve as a point of contact for application related issues, concerns, and needs.
  • Provide coaching and team building to ensure team members continue to develop the necessary skills in alignment with the technical direction of the company.
  • Organize activities to achieve desired levels of productivity, cost, & quality standards established for the department.
  • Creates a collaborative team environment.
  • Manages customer expectations and anticipates customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience in .NET, web development, and SQL is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software development and 2-4 years supporting and configuring .NET or web-based applications is required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience managing a development team and maintaining of applications is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the modern software development lifecycle; including agile methodology.
  • Experience with modern DevOps practices; including CI/CD pipelines, code vulnerability scans, IaaS.
  • Experience with development and programming of SQL relational databases using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and team engagement skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud services a plus.
  • Great communicator who keeps all stakeholders updated with issue progress and status.
  • Experience with monitoring tools.
  • Must be a team player.
