Role Summary:

Leads all General Assembly Scheduling related activities and provide in person support to cross functional teams involved, which includes, Production, Material Flow, MES, SAP, Launch, NPI, EOL and Service. Position reports to the Senior Manager for Scheduling onsite in Normal, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible over the day and nighttime scheduling teams for all vehicle models, ensuring adherence to the defined scheduling scope and on-site production support during operating hours. Scope involves, active participation for suggestions, complaints, training, attendance, overtime and vacation.
  • Responsible for setting up SOP for GA scheduling process and strict adherence with necessary documentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining shiftily, daily and weekly reporting for defined KPI's. Ensuring that cross-shift communication is handed off succinctly.
  • Responsible to work with cross functional team to identify bottle necks daily and escalate to the appropriate stake holder. Escalation path creation and maintenance across shifts.
  • Be part of daily production pre-production meeting and provide insight to the cross functional teams on any major call outs, such as special builds, potential part shortages and new product launches.
  • Risk mitigation and propose deviated plan with minimal impact and communicate risks to all involved stakeholders.
  • Perform audits on the demand signals to JIS/JIT suppliers. Actively working with MES/SAP teams for system implementation across all stations.
  • Responsible for tactical level execution of sequences and adherence to work package handed by the order ops team. Also responsible for identifying and closing issues down with IT team and/or defining/documenting deviated process to follow in the interim.
  • Responsible for all active retrievals from ASRS which includes, in person validation and blocking cells for trial, scrap and defect parts. Coordinating with controls, maintenance and IT teams for any broadcast related issues for sub lines.
  • Team to provide support in GA critical MIH part count audit to avoid downtime or result in delayed sequences.
  • Work in collaboration with NPI and Launch team for trials and implementation of new products.
  • Work with IT teams to close out open issues and root cause analysis, creating a pareto for various occurrences.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly performance review with all direct reports and provide constructive feedback and guidance for progression to respective career goals.
  • Teaches, plans, and implements the Rivian Production and Quality Network with emphasis on the five core principles.

Qualifications:

  • 4-8 years' experience in automotive industry is a must working with various MRP, ERP and MES systems.
  • 3 years minimum in supervisory role required
  • Engineering Degree (Industrial, Mechanical, Electric or Computer science) or MBA in operation management.
  • Working knowledge in SQL, Excel, Word, Power point, and Outlook programs.
  • Strong leadership skills, experience managing multiple teams preferred.
  • Ability to set tasks and responsibilities
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
  • Strong team orientation and cross functional attitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment.
