MAIN DUTIES

The manager will work in the Mobility Governance Unit (MGU) of the Knowledge and Innovation (Department (K&I) of UITP.

He/She will work closely with other committees’managers in the Mobility Governance: Combined Mobility, Sustainable Development Committee, Organising Authorities.

The manager will be responsible for the activities of the Transport & Urban Life Committee and its related bodies and for the EU funded projects related to this topic (a.o Transafe and Upper).

This position implies leadership and consensus-building and diplomatic skills to conciliate the different interests of the actors to move positions forward in line with the associations and sector’s strategies. It also requires an open mind and creative thinking to experiment new ways of sharing knowledge and delivering content production. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinates the work of the dedicated Committee and its associated Working Groups/Working Packages (studies, reports, position papers, articles) and manages members and chair expectations and involvement. This invovolves:
2. formulates recommendations to adapt and improve the committee on aspects relating to area of discussions, membership (types and geography of stakeholders, member commitments…),
3. manages the work program of the Committee and its related working groups,
4. manages the organization of meetings, workshops and seminars prepared by the Committee,
5. contributes to papers and articles of relevant topics for UITP and in line with the topics of the Committee,
6. manages the daily functioning of TUL Committee, including elections of Chair, proposition of Vice-Chair, management of members, supports Work Packages of the Paratransit Working Group under the supervision of the manager.

1. Supports and manages EU and third party funded projects:
2. Contributes to proposal preparation under the supervision of UITP staff in charge of EU project (Senior Project Strategist, K&I Deputy Director…),
3. Contribute to technical input and reporting of the project falling under the umbrella of the committee and the unit,
4. Supports the Senior Project Strategist, K&I Deputy Director, the Project coordinator, EU project administrative and financial officer... on relevant administrative and financial matters, such as budget, resources, forecast, financial reporting, project closing…

1. 3. Contributes to papers and articles writing and/or participate in events that are related to topics relevant for TUL Committee and Paratransit Working Group.

1. Supports and contributes to other knowledge services, when in line with the Committee’s and the MGUnit activities, by providing input to:
2. Internal UITP activities: the UITP summit, conferences, workshops, seminars, trainings…,
3. External general cooperation and/or specific partnerships such as participation to cooperative platforms, advocacy activities, events, communication…

1. Contributes to membership development and manages the relationship with several key accounts of premium members.

1. Supports the Mobility Governance Unit leader, supports other junior managers from the unit and cooperates with the Director and Deputy Directors of Department.
