Legal Analyst II

Job Description:

Dynamo Technologies is looking for a Legal Analyst I to work closely with a federal client and their legal analytics program team.  The team develops algorithms, visualizations, and analytics solutions for legal initiatives, including investigations and examinations.  This position offers a great opportunity to be part of a high-performing team responsible for supporting a high-velocity data-driven environment.

Duties/ Responsibilities 

The specific duties include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

• Support attorneys or similar in application of legal/regulatory matters to data.
• Produce accurate reports on financial data using software such as write queries as part of data analysis (not including for automation purposes).
• Develop code to appropriately query, manipulate, and clean relational data.
• Develop creative and accurate visualizations that communicate a story, trend, pattern etc., through collaborations with other team members.
• Provide technical expertise for non-technical researchers/subject matter experts.
• Independently analyze data, applying and explaining the statistical and mathematical principles used.
• Use methods of exploratory data analysis and ability to identify when data is insufficient to reach conclusions.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Supporting litigation, investigation, or settlement negotiations with quantitative analysis under time pressure.
• Supporting attorneys or similar in application of legal/regulatory matters to data.
• Demonstrating excellent communication skills and ability to work with customers, and other technical teams.
• Using Github, and Git.
• Statistical, quantitative, or econometric analysis using programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, or Stata.
• Independently using data to answer questions.
• Using methods of exploratory data analysis and demonstrating ability to identify when data is insufficient to reach conclusions.
• Data analysis using SQL and Excel.
• Writing queries as part of data analysis (not including for automation purposes).
• Manipulating, and cleaning relational data.
• Developing analytics solutions that are programmatic.
• Providing technical expertise for non-technical researchers/subject matter experts.
• Experience working with subject matter or technical experts including attorneys, researchers, and/or economists.
• U.S Citizenship required

Education and Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in the following:

• Working on financial regulatory matters

Salary

• $110k-$120k
