Lead - Taxation, Accounts Receivable & Payable

Maviance PLC is engaging in its expansion phase in Cameroon and within the CEMAC (Central African) region with the goal of establishing the company as the #1 leading player in the Fintech and Digital Financial space. Our recent partnership with MFS Africa will allow us to rapidly deploy new products across the CEMAC region and to central African consumers and businesses to the global digital economy.

We are looking for a Finance personnel who will be an integral part of the Finance team and oversee the Taxation, Account Receivable and Account Payable arm of the Department. This role is based in Douala and will work directly with the CFO to ensure that, Management has an overview of the company's taxation, AR and AP situation at all times and help the growth and the transition of the company to a leader in the digital financial sector.

The main duties and responsibilities as the Lead - Taxation AR & AP will be to:

• Handle all tax issues of the company
• Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise
• Identify and mitigate tax risks
• Manage and coordinate tax audits
• Prepare monthly tax schedules for accounting
• Prepare all tax papers on regular basis and handle tax information requests
• File all company tax documents at the appropriate tax offices
• Ensure all accounts payable and company financial obligations are handled efficiently
• Ensure only suppliers that are in line with internal and national regulations are paid
• Prepare monthly AP schedule for accounting
• Manage collection (Commissions and other payments due Maviance) activities, sending out invoices and follow-up inquiries on a regular and timely basis.
• Manage aged receivables and limit company exposure to bad debts
• Prepare monthly AR schedule for accounting
• Recommend bad debts to be written off to the CFO
• Ensure all tax, AR and AP transactions are handled in line with laid down policies and procedures
• Improve processes by developing and implementing best practices in taxation, AR & AP.

Requirements

You are the person we are looking for if you have:

• At least 2 years work experience as an Accountant in the CEMAC Region
• BSc in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant degree
• Experience in a comparable role ( Must have held a position in a taxation Department)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills

• Additional Professional Certification will be a plus
