About the role
As Junior/Senior R&D Site Automation Engineer, you will participate in the process of the design of the automation components, selection of hardware, installation and commissioning activities for the prototypes and systems of our R&D Center located in Switzerland. You will be working at multiple storage types and technologies on prototypes which range from subcomponents of the technology to full scale storage systems. You will lead shortly after start simple prototypes and support an experienced small team on the complex multi systems projects.
What you will do
•Participate in the study and implementation phase of prototypes to understand operations
•Lead design of automation cabinets for small prototypes and support the team on larger projects
•Draft Bill of Material of the components required
•Cabling sensor and PLC modules in collaboration with electricians and panel builders
•Program the PLC in TwinCat Beckhoff in autonomy for simpler functions
•Support programming of experienced PLC developers for complex systems
•Lead commissioning of simpler prototypes
•Support commissioning of complex prototypes
•Prepare HMI to enable operator to use the systems
•Perform Trouble Shooting during the process

What a qualified candidate should possess
•Either: Federal Diploma + 4 years experience in Backhoff,
•OR: Bachelor/Master degree with Project experience and/or Internship experience in Backhoff
•Coding in structured text (TwinCat Beckhoff), panel design knowledge are required
•Additional experience in C sharp, Simens PLC is a plus
•English business proficiency is required, Italian and/or German are a plus
