Jr QA Engineer

Zipdev is looking for a Jr QA Engineer to develop a brand new product alongside a team of 4 senior developers. The project is a new product with a company that has a platform that transforms what property owners and managers can do. It is a real-time property management solution that turbo-charges organizations’ data to help make smarter business decisions.

In this role, you will be designing, managing, and executing the quality control, assurance, and testing process for software development in accordance with organization standards.

You will work in a team-oriented environment to produce the best result in the given constraints.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Continually deliver improved QA outcomes to deliver higher quality software
  • Provide quality control expertise for software engineering process
  • Provide feedback on the product engineering process to improve quality outcomes
  • Work with members of the Product, Design and Engineering team to deliver qualityfeatures to customers in a timely manner

Daily Responsibilities

  • Write and run test scenarios/cases/etc. to validate the quality of delivered software
  • Validate reported issues and construct well defined bug reports
  • Knowing and applying the correct type of testing to the situation - functional, interface,regression, automated, performance, API etc
  • Designing and executing automated and manual test cases, including expansion of regression, API and other test suites
  • Investigating, reporting and evaluating bugs
  • Building quality tests to reliably run across different environments and platforms
  • Implementing and maintaining frameworks to allow automated testing to test our webapplications, mobile applications and APIs.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor/Grad Dip. Science/Computer Science/ITSystems, IT Certification or similar), or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the uses and methods of manual and automated software testing across a variety of platforms.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of different testing skills, and where they should (and shouldn’t) be applied.
  • Knowledge of mobile application testing.
  • Awareness of Agile software development processes.
  • Awareness and use of tools such as Selenium, Appium, Postman (etc).
