About the Role
As the Engineering Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for driving improvements in the processes and technologies utilized by Engineering teams at HashiCorp. Jira is a strategic platform and application used by most teams across HashiCorp and you will play a crucial role in how the platform is used across the organization. You will be responsible for front-end configurations, implementing customization, evaluating, implementing and managing plug-ins, integrations, and for being a go-to source for all Jira related questions and tasks. You will be a key partner and SME working with internal TPMs and Jira SME's across the organization to align Jira to our SDLC and best practices. You are naturally curious and like to solve problems. You are customer-centric.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Jira cloud instances, and other Atlassian products including: Confluence, Access, StatusPage, and various plugins
- Be a change agent to drive transformation of how we manage work
- Drive innovation on how work is performed using Jira
- Create custom Jira projects, complex workflows and permission schemas
- Create standard operating procedure documentation
- Provide formal and informal training to Jira users, and less experienced Jira Admins
- Provide guidance and direction to less experience Jira Admins
- Identify, test and recommend new plugins to meet project requirements
- Define access permission schemas for HashiCorp users
- Be a key contact for Atlassian support
- Align Jira with TPM processes and standards (Waterfall, Agile and Kanban)
- Troubleshoot application issues and add-on integration issues in Jira and Confluence working with Atlassian support
- Participate in requirements gathering for business processes, and determine ways to optimize/improve Jira setup and workflows, as well as identify where functionality can/cannot meet user requests
- Develop metrics dashboards and advanced filters in Jira to provide end-users and business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports
- Provide User Management and support for users, manage system access across groups to ensure compliance, and maintain best practices. Create and manage security schemes, custom fields and configurations
- Install, manage and administer Jira add-ons, plugins, and extensions
- Providing assistance in the management and support of integrations between tools in the development landscape, including : Jira, Confluence, Access, GitHub, etc.
You may be a good fit for our team if:
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong change management skills
- 2+ years experience as a Jira/Atlassian Administrator
- Detailed understanding of how to configure and coordinate data and projects within Jira and other Atlassian products
- Solid understanding of Agile principles and project management methodologies
