UWorld is seeking a talented Illustrator to join our growing illustration department. Our illustrators collaborate with a team of teachers, scientists, and lawyers to create effective images for our educational apps. A successful candidate will have outstanding draftsmanship skills, an eye for basic graphic design and a passion for education.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Illustration or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience:
- Exceptional proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (ie. Photoshop, Illustrator)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Confidently work in an environment with high expectations
- Have exceptional ability to illustrate in a hyper realistic style
- Be receptive to continuous feedback from peers and management
- Have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Demonstrate excellence at drawing the human figure and digital life drawing
- Develop new skills rapidly and create illustrations at a consistent pace
- Have experience in 3D digital sculpting (optional)
- Have basic animation skills (optional)
Job Responsibilities:
Design and Create
- Create original illustrations for a wide range of subjects, including history, law, basic science, mathematics, physics etc.
- Collaborate with our MBE/BAR and SAT/ACT/AP teams to create unique ways of visualizing difficult concepts and tell stories through illustrative concepts
- Work primarily in raster graphics
- Utilize a library of 3D and 2D assets
- Create illustrations according to stylistic guidelines
Consult and Collaborate
- Collaborate with management and team members to define schedules and deliverables, and to ensure goals are met
- Help maintain an efficient and successful production process
Technical/Quality Assurance
- Communicate effectively with IT & quality assurance teams to anticipate and resolve issues
- Work independently or in small groups to trouble-shoot and provide solutions to production issues related to creation and content building
