Joining us, you’ll be working with a capable team of writers, editors and designers to create a huge variety of learning resources that are in use across the globe. Whether it be illustration to increase engagement levels of students or to demonstrate a principle crucial to the student’s understanding, you’ll be contributing to Twinkl’s mission to ‘Help those who teach,’ and helping give learners worldwide a step up in life.
Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:
- Creating illustrations for the international teams resources.
- Skill share workshops and other related training activities.
- Weekly team and line manager meetings
In this role, you will learn:
- How to illustrate beautifully for a fast paced ever changing professional environment.
- How to make your contribution to a team count. You won’t just learn to be efficient, but also to be effective.
- A variety of Twinkl brand styles to service all ages of learners.
- Advanced and highly valued Photoshop skills.

Requirements
To succeed in the role, you will:
- Have the ability to draw to a predefined style
- Be creative and imaginative
- Be proficient in the use of Adobe Photoshop
- Have the ability to research and pull out relevant information & ideas
- Have strong drawing fundamentals
We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:
- Degree or equivalent in illustration/other art and design-based subject.
- Experience in educational illustration.
- Experience in illustrating for children.

What you will need to provide
- Reliable internet connection - use speed checkers such as fast.com to check connection.
- Minimum speed: 16Mbs download, 8Mbs upload
- 50ms average latency when pinging 8.8.8.8
- You will need to be able to be on a video call with ten people, having camera and microphone on with no connection issues.
- Adequate working space - ideally a desk that is at least 84cm across and 70cm deep.
- Computer or laptop, minimum spec to allow all necessary programs and systems to run optimally:
- Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700
- 16Gb RAM
- 256GB SDD Hard drive
- Mouse
- Webcam and headphones including microphone
- Drawing tablet:
- Resolution Minimum of 1920 x 1080
- Physical Size 16" (40cm) minimum, ideally 22” (55cm) (iPads and iPad pros are not suitable)

In portfolios, we are looking for candidates with a variety of illustration styles that really showcase basic drawing skills. In particular, we want to see strong examples of line drawing and good understanding of how to draw people and proportion / anatomy. We also need evidence of flexibility and adaptability to demonstrate that candidates would be capable of adopting the Twinkl brand styles which can be seen on the website.
