DESCRIPTION:
The Head of Web and Mobile Development for SKIMS will be responsible for all engineering development on both web and mobile properties that support SKIMS distribution channels; Including but not limited to SKIMS.com, mobile applications, and store integration platforms. This role will lead the development process across both third-party and in-house engineering resources, drive performance-based initiatives focused on stability and scalability and oversee the execution of the SKIMS digital roadmap.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Oversee technical relationship with external development agency, ensuring highest standards of delivery & execution and informing optimal assignment between in-house and external resources
· Build highly efficient tools that empower end users to optimize the customer experience (site merchandising & web production)
· Drive initiatives focused on a high-traffic and highly responsive web and mobile applications
· Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable architecture and code
· Collaborate with broader business units on priorities and execution.
· Prioritize performance & stability, scaling for extreme traffic
· Head technical representative in all web/mobile engineering discussions with 3rd parties, agencies, partners etc
· Collaborate with back-end engineering teams to develop innovative features across both web and mobile applications
· Establish, build and own a 24/7 on-call support structure for all customer facing applications
· Work closely with Ecommerce, Marketing, and Data teams to execute enhancements and features
· Ensure site and mobile compliance with all applicable requirements from marketplaces and government bodies
· Identify and mitigate risks throughout the development lifecycles and iterative sprints
· Foster a collaborative environment that bridges the gap between Digital Product and Engineering
· Set up and execute a strong hiring process to build a world class team of engineers
· Grow and mentor a team of highly effective engineers to own and support SKIMS’ customer facing applications
· Lead and supervise Web (Front-End) and Mobile Engineering teams
· Create a robust and iterative test engineering program and culture focused on QA
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 8- 10+ Years of building web and mobile software products for eCommerce businesses
· 5+ Years in hands-on development of Web and Mobile applications
· Proven track record of successfully leading Front End eCommerce Engineering teams
· Fluent with the following languages and frameworks: React Native, ReactJS, JavaScript, CSS, and Flutter
· Extensive knowledge of general headless framework for eCommerce, including CMS platforms (Sanity, Contentful, etc)
· Previous experience working with Shopify+ platform
· Previous experience leveraging Selenium for functional testing
· Deep familiarity with data tracking governance (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Segment, Server-side tracking set-up, identity stitching etc)
· Experience with Kubernetes and Docker is a plus, but not required
· Familiarity with Shopify’s Hydrogen/Oxygen platform is a plus, but not required
