Datavant is seeking a results-oriented Growth Marketer for our life sciences segment who has marketed real-world data and/or enterprise software products to the life sciences industry.  You will develop an understanding of how Datavant Switchboard (our data connectivity product platform) enables use cases for life science customers across the entire drug development lifecycle from R&D to commercial.  Using that understanding, you will own an expansive charter to develop marketing strategy and execute integrated campaigns that drive inbound growth from life science prospects.

You’ll work cross-functionally with the Go-to-Market team and Product Marketing to plan and devise campaigns that acquire and nurture prospects through the sales funnel.  You will work with the enterprise digital marketing team to determine the most efficient and optimal mix of channels and tactics to acquire qualified leads, and you will use data and measure results to continually improve demand generation strategy.

You Will:

  • Develop deep understanding of Life Science customers and use this to develop marketing plans and use cases
    • Collaborate with Life Sciences GTM (go-to-market) to understand the different ways life sciences clients utilize and get value from Datavant Switchboard (our product platform)
    • Collaborate with Product Marketing to understand the suite of capabilities that make up Datavant Switchboard and work together to describe how Switchboard solves life science company needs for data and insights
    • Collaborate with Brand and Customer Insights enterprise marketing team to develop evidence-based persona and ideal competitive positioning of Datavant
    • Develop case studies to communicate the ROI that Life Science customers are getting from Datavant Switchboard in every aspect of their business -- pre-clinical to clinical trials to launch planning and post-launch commercial analytics
    • Develop and maintain Life Sciences customer persona and associated value propositions as we expand Datavant Switchboard use across business units
  • Develop and execute on Life Science demand generation programs
    • Work with the Head of Marketing, Product Marketing and Life Science Sales Leader and BDR team to grow demand from life sciences companies for our products and solutions
    • Plan integrated campaigns that deliver compelling content to targeted persona and have an optimal mix of awareness, consideration and conversion content
    • Apply Account Based Marketing (ABM) strategies and ABM marketing technology to drive expansion of existing Life Science customers
    • Work with Enterprise Digital Marketing on campaign execution and continuous measurement to optimizing funnel performance
    • Report on campaign performance and overall lead generation results to leadership
  • Contribute to the growth of the Marketing team
    • Contribute to the vertical Marketing team and broader Marketing organization by taking ownership of and driving high priority projects
    • Help build our team culture and continually improving our processes
    • Adopt a nimble and flexible mindset that leaves room for quick pivots as new opportunities present themselves
    • Be a collaborative team player with a no-job-too-small attitude

 

What You Will Bring to the Table: 

  • 8+ years of marketing experience, inclusive of growth marketing and demand generation, at an enterprise software company selling to the life sciences industry
  • 5+ years of cross-functional leadership experience
  • 5+ years in using marketing technology (HubSpot, WordPress, Salesforce, Google Analytics, social media marketing, email marketing)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as ability to influence cross-functionally and lead within the team
  • Creative ideas and strong execution skills to launch campaigns with stopping power that will 10x demand
  • Keen intuition for understanding where use cases are in their maturity stage (including entirely new category-creating use cases) and developing appropriate content and go-to-market strategy
  • Commercial orientation, market savvy and effective past experiences working with enterprise sales teams
  • Capacity to learn quickly and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and disaggregating big goals into concrete work plans

Our compensation philosophy is to be externally competitive, internally fair, and not win or lose on compensation. Salary ranges are developed with the support of benchmarks (competitive San Francisco rates for US-based roles) and industry best practices.

We rely less on job titles and more on cultivating an environment where anyone can contribute, the best ideas win, and personal growth is driven by expanding impact and less by title. This means we default to simple job titles (e.g., Software Engineer) rather than complex ones (e.g., Senior Software Engineer). The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated total cash compensation range for this role is $165-215k.
