We are looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Developer with a strong background in ReactJS to join our Merchandising team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining our platform, as well as contributing to the development of new features and enhancements. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an agile environment, a strong understanding of web development best practices, and a passion for building scalable and performant web applications.

At Lightspeed, we are dedicated to bringing cities and communities to life by powering SMBs. More specifically, we are a team of 6 people located across Montreal, Toronto, London (Ontario), Edmonton and New York, who are working together to make product procurement more accessible for SMBs. For this role, you can be located in Canada or the United States, +1/-1h time zone difference from EST.

What are you going to do?

  • Design beautiful and functional web applications, with a focus on the client side
  • Work closely with the Feature Lead and manager to rapidly iterate on features and UX
  • Evolve and implement new Feature in React JS and latest technologies
  • Participate in team code reviews and peer support
  • Stay up to date with the latest Frontend technologies to ensure we are always using the best practices
  • Be a promoter of great design and user experience
  • Grow as a developer through peer mentorship and collaboration

What do you need to bring?

We're looking for a Software Developer who has experience with the following:

  • 3+ years of strong knowledge of React.js and Typescript 
  • Practical understanding of HTML, CSS (SASS or equivalent)
  • A keen interest in user interface design
  • Familiarity with writing tests
  • Excellent communication skills

What would be great to have? 

  • Experience working in Golang
  • Experience in microservice architectures
  • Experience writing automated unit and functional tests
  • Experience with cloud environments like GCP, AWS, as well as container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Experience with real time messaging systems (Pub/Sub, Kafka)
  • Experience with both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) datastores
  • A keen interest in API design
