Job Description:

 

BUCK is seeking a freelance Unity/ Realtime Technical Artist to join our fast-growing team. 

Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with 3D/2D artists and engineers to breathe life into interactive AR/VR experiences for web or mobile device
  • Partner with the Creative Technology department to help realize internal initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with engineers (with similar specialties) across sites to standardize workflows
  • Provide assistance between creatives, engineers and artists to realize the overall vision
  • Own the real-time look development process from shader creation to lighting for real-time 
  • Investigate new workflows, tools and optimization efficiencies within the real-time production
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve new ideas on a project by project basis
  • Understand the importance of optimization for game ready assets,  help guide the team to execute scanned assets cleanup processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ Years of experience working in game industry relevant to the skillset (AR/VR )
  • Good understanding of the real-time project workflow/ pipeline
  • Proven experience, expertise and passion to troubleshoot
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to do self-directed learning
  • Willing to take initiatives/ take on responsibilities 
  • Strong organizational skills and discipline.
    • Ability to track your own work as well as other people's work.
    • Good delegation skills
  • Ability to understand and distill client and creative feedback.
  • Experience nurturing other artists and giving feedback.
  • Experience problem-solving technical challenges.
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Software Requirements

  • Working knowledge of C# or C++ (Unreal)
  • Experience with performance optimization for mobile/ar/vr devices
  • Advanced Knowledge of Unity or Unreal Engine and Editor
  • Intimate software knowledge of at least 1 of the following 3D packages:
    • Maya
    • Houdini
    • Blender
    • C4D
  • Good working knowledge of Photoshop and Substance
