The Opportunity

We are looking for an accomplished Financial Accountant to join our Finance team as part of our financial services business in Grand Cayman.

The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest employers in Cayman, where colleagues from all over the world collaborate to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide. As part of our Cayman team you will:

 

  • responsible for the preparation of variance analysis, balance sheet analysis and supporting schedules, and any relevant analytical review
  • collaborate with Finance team in delivering monthly management accounts, year-end audits and annual audited financial statement for multiple legal entities, including stand alone and consolidated structures
  • support the shared service team over the review of invoice coding and ensuring adherence to budgets
  • participate in intercompany billing cycle, accounts receivable provisioning, and monitoring of all client balances for the respective business units
  • involve in annual budgeting and forecasting, as well as various initiatives, projects and ad-hoc analysis

 

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

 

  • The successful candidate will have a university degree in accounting or finance; A professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent) would be an asset together with a minimum of 1 to 3 years’ relevant post qualified experience in accounting in industry or audit firms with a leading accountancy practice
  • The successful candidate will have excellent time management, proven ability to adhere to strict deadlines, organisational and prioritisation skills as well as excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (fluent written and oral English);
  • The position requires the ability to deal with all levels of staff including those in foreign offices.
