As Finance Manager, Rwanda - you will lead the Finance requirements of the Rwanda business. We have created a strong presence in Kenya, but this journey has not yet begun in Rwanda. You are the first member of the Rwanda Finance team. As such, you will need to be ready to go from zero to a business that brings clean cooking to more than 1 million Rwandans in the next 3 years. You will be the key business partner to the Rwanda Leadership Team & the key conduit of Rwandan financial information to the group.
The role will be quite broad, we are looking for someone with both FP&A experience and deeper technical accounting knowledge. You will be supported by teams in Kenya for both FP&A and accounting functions in Kenya. The role will report into the head office in Kenya and will involve cross functional collaboration with people based in multiple locations across Africa & India.
- You will deliver reporting and insights that improve performance.
- You will be the business partner for key leaders in the Rwanda team including Managing Director, Commercial & Operations Heads and all other Functional Heads, with the support of the Kenya finance team.
- Own the monthly and quarterly management reporting packs for leadership & management teams for Rwanda, providing detailed commentary on performance.
- You will manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring operating costs and operational efficiencies are considered, and performance trade-offs assessed.
- Take the lead in engagements with RRA, supported by the tax team in Kenya.
- Own the filing of annual accounts, supported by the accounts team in Kenya.
- Own the accuracy of Rwanda financials, holding the accounting function responsible.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management.
- Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models.
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
- 5+ years of proven work experience as a Finance Business Partner, FP&A or similar role, ideally in the FMCG, Logistics, Energy, or Retail Sectors.
- 3+ years involved, in company audit processes (Internal or External).
- Solid analytical and decision-making skills.
- Solid financial training, MSc/MBA or relevant certification (CPA/CIMA/ACCA or similar) is a plus.
- Experience of operating in a matrix reporting structure.
- Flawless written and spoken English, working proficiency of Kinyarwanda is a plus.
