Job Description
Elwood is seeking an Execution Trader to join our Execution Desk in Jersey. As part of the role, you will contribute to the trading, execution, settlement requirements of the Jersey office whilst working closely with the cryptocurrency execution Team.
Responsibilities;
- Monitor and ensure the timely execution of cryptocurrency trades on a spot basis
- Ability to understand, risk manage and execute crypto derivatives
- As a team, pitching to perspective OTC clients our services
- Ability to research, build, and implement cryptocurrency trading strategies
- Strong understanding of market reading and current sentiment, ability to dynamically adjust to market trading activity
- Keep abreast of all relevant research and distribute internally amongst Teams in a time efficient manner
- Working together with operations and client-facing product teams to ensure synergy with external product offering and internal functions
- Contribute to the Risk Management framework
- Understand and apply knowledge of the exchanges' rules & regulations and market structures in which we engage
- Identify and capitalise on market opportunities both independently and within the trading team
- Develop and maintain good business relationships with counterparties such as exchanges,
- Liquidity Providers, OTC brokers and Banking counterparties.
- To assist with the ongoing engagement with clients alongside the sales Team
Qualifications / Knowledge
- 7+ years of execution trading experience
- Experience working with numerous exchange venues
- Strong understanding of the digital assets space
- Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining electronic trading infrastructures
- Bloomberg
- OMS Systems
- MS Excel
- Diverse trading background over a broad asset base
- An understanding of compliance with all relevant regulations, policies and procedures
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to positively influence outcomes
- Detail-oriented with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions in a fast-paced environment Motivation to succeed and deliver results in line with expectations
- Self-starter, able to identify and resolve issues within the business
- Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail
- Effective communicator with strong emotional intelligence
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks effectively
- Ability to understand challenging problems, find solutions and drive process improvement
