The Education Officer will assist in the overall Education Programme-coordination, development, and management. The duties and responsibilities are outlined in the following section and include specific functions for Monitoring & Evaluation, communications and visibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and proven experience working with education programmes in Yemen
- Experience with Education in Emergencies
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts
- Understanding of the context in Yemen and willingness to travel to the field
- Proven ability to coordinate with a diverse group of staff, stakeholders and local authorities, build and maintain good relationships
- Demonstrated patience, enthusiasm and strong personal skills with attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
- Proven knowledge and respect of key humanitarian principles
- Facilitation experience
- Strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft word and Excel) and ability to type/format documents in Arabic and English
- Experience with digital content creation for social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Outstanding writing and storytelling skills in Arabic and English
- Fluency in Arabic and professional proficiency in English required; local (regional) language ability a plus
- Team player and willingness to learn with a good sense of humor
