About this role:

We are looking for a dynamic Director of Marketing to join the Dopple team and lead the marketing function as we enter our next phase of growth. The ideal candidate is both creative and analytical, with a deep understanding of both brand and performance marketing. The person hired for this role will have a high degree of familiarity with all major paid and organic marketing channels, enabling them to build, execute and refine our growth strategy. They will be a results-driven marketer and motivating team leader.

The Director of Marketing will report to the Founder/CEO, lead our small team of marketers and collaborate cross-functionally with our Product and Operations teams.

Please note that this role can be based in New York, NY or remote within the U.S.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own our marketing calendar. Create excitement around new brand launches and partnerships. Highlight our amazing inventory of brands and products, and our unique value proposition. Connect with our audiences by speaking to the challenges (growth spurt, new season, etc.) they are addressing and capitalizing on major holidays and commercial moments (back to school, birthdays, etc.) 
  • Ensure consistent visual branding and messaging across channels. Codify and evolve brand elements as needed, for example defining the way Dopple appears on each social channel. Provide direction to creative team members and agencies.
  • Optimize our email and SMS marketing. Implement best practices across the board for segmentation, creative layout, etc.. Throttle send volume strategically to balance and maximize reach and deliverability. Implement flows to automate marketing. Launch and manage monthly testing plan.
  • Take our retargeting to the next level, leveraging email, SMS, paid social and potentially other channels to reach and convert site traffic.
  • Partner cross-functionally on our site roadmap to continually improve the customer experience and drive data capture and order conversions. Suggest content, landing pages, products, features, etc. to test.
  • Develop our organic marketing channels, including social media and brand partnerships.
  • Manage and partner with our paid media agency, collaborating on the strategy for targeting, creative, etc. Conduct strategic experiments with new acquisition channels to identify effective and ROI-positive ways to convert new customers.
  • Maintain and expand reporting to capture essential KPIs for evaluation performance of our marketing, media and site. Distill performance for team and leadership, leveraging learnings to continually optimize
  • Approach growth formulaically, developing hypotheses about what will resonate with our target audience and setting up test plans to collect results.
  • Monitor the retail landscape of brands, best practices, tools and technologies. Explore and recommend updates to our marketing plans where there is fit and opportunity.
  • Manage, lead and develop our small marketing team.
  • Propose marketing budget allocation, taking a thoughtful approach to all expenditure. Tie acquisition spend to target CPAs. Evaluate other expenses thoroughly and tie back to key business initiatives and goals.
  • Serve as a member of the leadership team, partnering with the Founder/CEO and other directors to achieve key initiatives, address new roadblocks and support the business on its path to growth.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • 7 - 10 years of marketing experience in retail/e-commerce. Subscription experience preferred. Experience in fashion and/or children’s products is a bonus.
  • Capable brand and performance marketer. Strong, elevated sense of aesthetic and ability to provide direction to the creative team. Familiarity with all major marketing channels and understanding of tactics employed to optimize performance.
  • Deep acquisition experience across both paid and organic channels, inclusive of paid social, paid search, influencer marketing, affiliate, direct mail, etc.
  • Self-directed working style, with the ability to translate high-level company goals to actionable, measurable marketing plans.
  • Flexibility to step back and think strategically and dive in to execute our many initiatives.
  • Highly analytical with advanced skills in Google Analytics, Excel and marketing platforms like Klaviyo and Ads Manager.4+ years’ experience managing people, with an interest in team leadership and development.
  • A very strong work-ethic, enthusiasm for all things marketing and a can-do attitude.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 annually based on experience level.
