Position Overview
The field operations director will lead our team of W-2 employee drivers, lead drivers, driver trainers, and operations management (Ops Managers/Associates and other managerial personnel). This role will collaborate closely with local sales and marketing teams to ensure that San Francisco customers consistently receive an elevated ride-hailing experience.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for the overall success of market operations, managing both day-to-day operations and pushing continuous improvement
- Grow and oversee a team (Ops Manager, Ops Associates) to manage the frontline workforce (drivers, service agents, lead drivers, trainers), direct fleet operations, and ultimately ensure passenger satisfaction
- Collaborate with teams leading demand planning for the San Francisco market to plan for forecasted demand, build operational plans for events, and ensure customer needs are effectively met
- Manage Ops & Support costs within the P&L, meeting budget relative to growth targets and finding cost efficiencies
- Ensure your market successfully meets driver supply targets by managing the driver onboarding and support process appropriately, working with Driver Supply team
- Work with HR team to adhere to policies and legal requirements, ensuring your market remains fully compliant and adequately documented
- Work with other market leaders to develop and rollout operational initiatives: develop a framework for successfully implementing and managing changes across the region.
- Provide feedback to dispatch function and work collaboratively to improve fleet performance (i.e., positioning, minimizing downtime)
- Analyze your market's performance and guide market operations dynamically through a data-driven approach
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3+ years of people leadership of a frontline / hourly workforce of 50+ employees
- Accustomed to effectively managing and delegating through a (near) 24/7 operation
- Willingness to lead fully onsite
- Proven success in data-driven decision making
- You are an entrepreneurial builder, collaborative colleague, and practical problem-solver
** Pursuant to California's salary transparency law, this role will receive a base salary in the range of $90,000 - $135,000 per year. **
