We’re looking for a growth-oriented Director/VP of Engineering to lead our core product engineering department distributed across our Europe offices. Your new adventure:
- As part of the CTO leadership team, assume partial responsibility for the whole engineering department (400 engineers and counting)
- Own a significant technical or non-technical area in engineering department (for example, performance, architecture, ways of working or other)
- Act as a technical and people leader accountable for the success of a department together with counterparts from other disciplines
- Lead and manage a team of seven engineering managers and around 100 engineers
- Take responsibility for strategy, vision, hiring, ways of working, talent development and retention for the department
- Handle business performance and customer satisfaction for a specific area, together with counterparts from the product and design department
- Provide technical guidance to top management
- Look after the budget for an engineering department (including, for example, headcount, training, hosting, third-party tools, etc.)
- Be a role model for everyone in the company
Does this sound like you?
- 6+ years of experience in engineering management on different management levels, preferably in a start-up
- Proven experience as Principal EM/Engineering Director/VP of Engineering
- Familiarity with the Private Equity packed scale up challenges
- Experience with startups transitioning to pre-IPO scaleups
- Strong technical knowledge and experience building highly-scalable SaaS web applications
- Ideally, you held a position as or equivalent to senior software engineer in a previous role
- You have worked with different delivery frameworks (project management, scrum, missions framework, kanban)
- You know how to make product, design and engineering work toward the same goal
- A strong can-do attitude, great communication skills and openness to feedback
- A goal-oriented mindset
- Strong attention to detail in development and operations
- Passionate about enabling customers to succeed and grow using Pipedrive
- A focus on product excellence
- Familiarity with CRM or sales area is a plus
- Understanding of the startup soul
- Knowledge of the necessary preparation required for IPO/Strategical Merger
