Speaking of events. We’re looking for someone who loves events. Maybe you’ve worked organizing events, or maybe you’re usually the attendee. Did you struggle when events got shut down in 2020 and 2021? Us too. Are you stoked to find new ways to reach out and connect with people now that they’re coming back? Us too! You love making things better for people who go to events. You have a unique point of view, and you don’t let the possibility of being shut down stop you from proposing radical, non-obvious, and norm-challenging ideas. You believe that there is always a better way.

The Position

Swoogo is looking for an exceptional Director of Brand Marketing with a passion for telling stories and creating experiences that will change how the world views events. If you’re already thinking, “Swoogo, what could I do with a word like Swoogo?” then it might be you.

We’re an event management platform that is revolutionizing the possibilities in the event space, and we need a solid, strategic narrative to help spread the word. This strategic narrative envelopes the overarching changes that Swoogo is trying to implement when it comes to the event industry. You’ll own the plan and work collaboratively to see it through. You’ll create impactful points of views that provide value to the event professional, that are insightful, entertaining, and relevant. When it’s all done, you’ll analyze the impact, adjust, and press forward. We have a team ready for your navigation! 

You will

  • Own the content strategy for building a media-centric marketing path to distribute our strategic narrative, and prove its impact
  • Collaborate with our senior content writer to produce consistent and engaging content across owned, earned, and paid channels 
  • Direct the demand generation and product marketing managers to convert brand strategies into innovative campaigns
  • Work closely with our customer marketing manager to engage our community of very happy customers
  • Own Swoogo’s social media strategy, and analyze event management trends and customer insights

Must Haves

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Marketing, Events, Advertising, or Brand Strategy
  • Events industry experience
  • A proactive, effective communicator, excited about working in a diverse, distributed team
  • Experience project managing and can work collaboratively with individuals and peers in comms, marketing, and business roles
  • A positive-sum mentality—you’re equally excited about both rolling up your sleeves to get something done and reflecting on the bigger picture
  • A media company mindset
  • Be ready to use, or very quickly get up to speed, on Hubspot and Salesforce

Nice-To-Haves

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Experience in Saas / B2B SaaS
