The Finance Director will report to the VP, FP&A, supporting the Sales & Marketing business. This is a senior management role with high visibility to supporting our Chief Revenue Officer, with coverage that includes our Chief Sales Officer, Chief Customer Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. This includes collaboration on strategic investments, key initiatives, business modeling, sales and customer success capacity planning, and P&L management. This person will lead a small team responsible for the monthly forecast, quarterly rolling forecast, monthly close, headcount planning, and annual planning process for Sales & Marketing departments. 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, operational finance, FP&A, or investment banking
  • Strong financial modeling and presentation skills 
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Passionate about building and developing teams
  • Experience owning budgets for major functional areas within an organization, and working with operators on day-to-day execution to hit targets
  • Able to distill complex financial data into digestible outputs and analyses, for use across the organization; understanding of data constructs and importance of data hygiene
  • Desire and ability to influence the broader organization in driving efficiencies
  • Experience with go-to-market and customer success functions strongly preferred
  • Experience building sales capacity models and measuring sales efficiency
  • Reports into VP of FP&A and partners closely with our Chief Revenue Officer.

Responsibilities

  • This is a critical leadership role responsible for supporting go-to-market functions including Sales, Marketing and Customer Success.
  • Managing and developing a small team providing partnership to key functional leaders responsible for planning, forecasting and reporting
  • Own company's long-range and in-year forecasting and reporting processes for financial and other key metrics, enabling leadership to make critical decisions
  • Prepare high-quality materials to be presented to executive management team and board of directors
  • Collaborate with leadership on go-to-market strategy including sales comp plans and territories, customer success coverage model, result-driven marketing, cost of sales analyses
  • Balancing resource requirements with financial goals through disciplined budgeting; managing headcount and discretionary spend in the near and long-terms
  • Monitor KPIs through automated dashboards, providing visibility to executive leadership
  • Collaborate with teams across sales, marketing, customer success, accounting and operations to create, improve and automate systems and processes to support the forecast as well as analytics and insights to enable decision making across the business
