Director, Business Development

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Global Business Development and Logistics, this position is responsible
for achieving the Global B2B sales goals by cultivating relationships with clients, developing profitable business
strategies, and guiding the smooth operation of the B2B business of iHerb organization. This individual will be
responsible for managing existing accounts and cultivating new relationships with Retailers and Distributors globally.

 

Job Expectations:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets
  • Create and communicate sales goals and ensure C-level executives are informed on the progress of those goals
  • Develop and manage iHerb’s B2B website and support automating the end to end B2B processes
  • Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs
  • Remain current on industry trends, market activities, governmental regulations, and competitive landscape
  • Leverage all external and internal sources to continuously build pipelines and enhance sales opportunities with both new and existing customers
  • Interpret and evaluate pricing and contracts to ensure proper adherence, mitigate exposure, and eliminate risk, while achieving expected profit margins
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual business reviews with the customers
  • Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals
  • Pursue new opportunities, identify service improvements, and implement profit enhancements
  • Identify and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and decision makers during and after the sales process to secure strong relationships
  • Establish and develop B2B sales team when the time is right
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as needed
  • Travel when needed

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven sales experience, meeting or exceeding targets
  • Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager, or sales director
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including the C-level
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Excellent listening, negotiations and presentation skills
  • Business acumen with the ability to influence across multiple business verticals
  • Natural ability to build and foster relationships
  • Goal oriented with the ability to create big picture scenarios and outcomes
  • Highly organized, detail oriented with excellent verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build and develop internal and external relationships
  • Proven strategic thinker with a track record of developing creative solutions and programs
  • Ability to develop and deliver results and pivot quickly
  • Prior proven success in providing input to the executive team and management peers regarding the business implications of all major decisions, as well as strategic objectives
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a sales team

 

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

 

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years developing and executing global sales strategies
  • Experience working with a growth-oriented, global organization is a plus

 

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business MBA or Masters preferred

The anticipated pay scale for this position can be found below, however the pay range applicable to you may vary by geographic location based on where the job is located or where you work.  The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.  iHerb, LLC is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.

Employees (and their families) that meet eligibility criteria as outlined in applicable plan documents are eligible to participate in our medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance programs and may enroll in our company’s 401(k) plan. Employees will also be eligible for Time Off and Paid Sick Leave pursuant to the company’s policies. Employees will enjoy paid holidays throughout the calendar year.  Eligibility requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents.

Hired applicant may be awarded Restrict Stock Units and receive annual bonuses pursuant to eligibility and performance criteria defined in the respective plan documents and policies.
