Digital Content Marketing Intern

This is a paid Summer 2023 Internship. This is a temporary, full-time internship. Candidates must be able to commit to a 10 week program.

Team & Position Details: 

As a Digital Content Marketing Intern, you will be reporting to our Director of Brand and Content, working with a passionate team to evaluate, enhance, and maintain our brand experience across digital platforms (our website, socials, etc). We are looking for a versatile intern-level marketer looking to gain experience across the Marketing function, including exposure to field marketing and demand generation.  

Though we are a cybersecurity company, we do not expect you to have a robust background in security – most of us didn’t when we first started! We just want someone excited, curious, and willing to learn.

As a Marketing Intern, your responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to Virtru’s web and social content strategy, including repurposing existing content in fresh and creative ways. 
• Work closely with Senior Designer, Content Writer, and Web Developer to co-create impressive digital experiences for Virtru prospects and customers. 
• Collaborate with the Director of Field Marketing to produce digital content and events such as webinars and video interviews. 
• Help manage website pages in Hubspot to optimize the user experience and conversions. Provide input to website design, navigation, and pathing to optimize journeys for target audiences and conversions.
• Contribute to Virtru’s various content channels, including email marketing, digital advertising, social media, website, video, and digital events. 
• Help strengthen organic SEO through on-page optimizations and competitive research.
• Support holistic campaign development from ideation to execution and measurement. This may include creating messaging or content, helping to place digital ads and define audiences, brainstorming campaign visuals, and publishing content through various channels.  

Skills that will help you thrive in this role: 

• Digital marketing experience from internships or in and out of the classroom  
• A curiosity around all things marketing, from content to design, web development and go-to-market strategy 
• Strong attention to detail 
• Ability to develop tailored copy that will resonate with certain audiences
• Experience working in a digital CRM system is a plus 
• Knowledge of Google Analytics is a plus
• Knowledge of video editing is a plus  
• Ability to work quickly without compromising quality
• Self-directed and collaborative -- ability to work autonomously and as part of a team as needed

As a Virtru Summer Intern:

During the interview process, you will meet with your Manager and discuss role expectations, your interests, and your skills. As a Virtru intern, you will work closely with your team and assist with challenging tasks and responsibilities to help Virtru come closer to achieving our goals. And of course, if you would like to learn more about something, just ask. 

In the Internship Cohort, you will be managed by your internship coordinator and HR advocate, Bella. Organized events, such as games nights, career workshops, and speaker series sessions are planned and executed specifically for interns. 

As an important team member of Virtru, you will be included in company-wide meetings and events, including one-on-one sessions with your department’s executive leader (giving you a peek as to what it’s like working with us full-time)!. You will gain real-world, hands-on learning and contribute to critical elements of an enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) business. You will be joining a highly collaborative company, with the opportunity to reach out to anyone for questions, with a summer mentor and HR advocate to assist you with internal networking!

Events to note in the ten week summer session:

• First week of Onboarding, just like a full-time employee!
• Weekly sessions with your HR advocate, 1:1 and in a group setting
• Two formal feedback sessions
• 1:1 session with Steering/Executive Leader

• Opportunity for in-office visit/mentorship 

This internship is for learners ready to work in a connected hybrid environment. While we are not a strict 9-5 work environment, you will be responsible for timely responses in Slack, email, and meeting attendance.
