For more than a year, we’ve been building the infrastructure needed to win. Our team is data-oriented, stands for big Democratic values, and is working every day to Defeat Ron DeSantis.
About the job
As Deputy Communications Director, you will work with the Communications team to oversee our campaign’s public and media relations. You'll coordinate outreach and manage relationships with members of the press and be a part of building and executing the strategic communications tactics on the campaign. This role will be a member of the communications team and report to the Communications Director.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of the communications team.
- Work daily with political reporters in Florida and nationally.
- Serve as an on-the-record spokesperson.
- Write press releases, op-eds, and memos to the press.
- Seek out strategic opportunities for rapid response.
About You
- 3+ years experience in political communication.
- Experience on statewide campaigns or the Hill.
- Demonstrated experience and success with pitching media.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Track record of creativity, initiative, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Spanish fluency is strongly preferred.
