Database Developer (MySql + Vertica)

As a Data Architecture Developer, you will be supporting one of the largest advertisement platforms in the online entertainment sector, serving 6 billion ads per day. You will join a community of developers connected by their passion for Data Architecture, creativity and exploring the latest technological trends. You will interact with Software Developers, and Quality Assurance developers to make sure our vision aligns with successful delivery of our projects in a challenging but rewarding environment. We're open to PHP developers looking to transition towards the DB side or a seasoned DB professional looking to learn or hone their skills in Vertica!

What you’ll be doing

• Design table architecture and investigate data issues
• Monitor and provide oversight on algorithms performance
• Write, maintain and optimize queries and stored procedures
• Redesign data structure and tables to ensure performance & optimization
• Act as a DB SME to the web development team (50% MySql, 50% Vertica) 

What you’ll need to be successful:

Must haves:

• University degree in Computer Science/Engineering or in a related field or relevant experience
• 4+ years hands-on Data Architecture experience on MySQL
• Programming experience or willingness to learn web languages
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Understanding of computational and data complexity, scalability, security

Nice to haves:

• Exposure to Vertica (transactional DB)
• Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies preferred
• Programming experience with PHP and high scale data platforms
