Rainmaking is hiring a

CTO / COO & Co-founder

Houston, United States

Rainmaking is a proven venture builder with over 13 years of experience of working with some of the worldʼs largest and most influential companies. Theyʼve built and launched over 50 ventures and worked with 80 of the Fortune500.

Rainmaking combines the scale strengths of large companies with its deep experience building ventures to create high-growth ventures. This approach de-risks the process of building strategically aligned businesses for corporate partners, without losing long-term ownership.

They co-invest millions of their own capital alongside their corporate partners. All their ventures are independent from Rainmaking and the corporate partner and are run by experienced and passionate entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs who benefit from never having to raise funds, being backed by major multinational corporations and supported all the way by Rainmakingʼs experienced and growing team.

CEMEX is a leading vertically integrated heavy building materials supplier, with annual net sales of $14.5bn.

Together, the two have partnered to create the first concrete one-stop shop in the US offering ready-mix and concrete building materials to SMB contractors. The Venture, 318, solves the problem of extremely inefficient procurement processes and fragmented supplier market that SMB contractors are currently facing. It would create a single source for all concrete-related products, reducing time, cost, and headaches of finding, procuring, and collecting the high-quality, competitively priced materials SMB contractors want.

The concrete building materials market is a $1-2 trillion opportunity and 318 represents a blue ocean opportunity, hyper-focused on a specific customer and their needs. Unfair advantages such as CEMEXʼs supplier relations would allow 318 to unlock the scale strengths of a major retailer like Home Depot while leveraging its customer base enables massive early distribution and potential pilot opportunities in the Houston area through its dedicated small/medium business unit.
