Overview  

Mixbook is looking for a spectacular Creative Director to join our Marketing team. Reporting to our Chief Marketing Officer, you will lead an in-house, six person creative team, direct the long term creative vision of our brand and lead the conception and development of all brand creative, including strategy and concepts, design, creative experiences, content creation and internal creative.  As our Creative Director, you will be the keeper of the Mixbook brand guidelines and visual identity and drive the creative strategy across digital and non-digital channels.

Job Description  

Mixbook is all about helping people bring their stories to life. Our Creative Director will bring the Mixbook story to life through creative storytelling that differentiates us from our competitors. One of the biggest projects on your plate this year is the creation and implementation of a brand refresh that delivers a new website experience, new ads and new email campaigns. Your inspirational leadership of a world class team, the award worthy campaigns that you launch, the brand refresh that you will lead and the value you add to every relationship across the company will be critical to skyrocketing our already impressive growth. 

Location
This is a US-based remote position that will require quarterly travel to the San Francisco Bay Area. Although this role is remote, it does require availability from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Pacific Time in order to support our existing team. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Lead and direct the ideation, presentation and execution of all creative marketing and advertising campaigns
  • Lead and motivate the Mixbook creative team within the overall marketing organization and lead all creative processes
  • Be the main creative voice of the Mixbook brand and act as the steward and keeper of the brand guidelines and visual identity
  • Curate all creative concepts, photography, design, typography, copywriting, artistic and styling direction for all creative channels; including social, paid media (digital and direct mail), email, branded content, experiential and brand partner creative/activation
  • Seek to discover creative concepts every day 
  • Be a valued and inspirational partner by promoting strong collaboration with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, design, and product management.
  • Successfully reduce our CAC across digital, print, email, TV and direct mail through the creation of innovative, award winning campaigns/world class customer-centered concepts.
  • Partner with marketing to  increase customer conversion by 18%

What You’ll Need 

  • 10+ years’ experience developing creative from ideation to execution across marketing channels, both digital and non-digital
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Experience in managing/overseeing a range of creative positions such as graphic design, production, and art direction
  • Testing is in your DNA. You're bold; you're excited to incorporate feedback and see your team’s work evolve over time.
  • Experience in DTC businesses focused on helping  the end user understand the key messaging and call to action
  • Ideally you will have a portfolio of award winning campaigns and be a thought leader amongst your peers. 
  • Ability to set, manage and meet deadlines
  • Beyond just interest, the itch to explore storytelling techniques and new technologies in support of great customer experiences
