The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking to fill the Creative Director position within the Digital Department. The position will report to the Digital Director.
The Creative Director will be responsible for leading creative and brand strategy for the DGA as well as supporting Democratic Gubernatorial campaigns in building and executing their own content and creative programs. You’ll work with the DGA Digital Department, the wider DGA team, as well as collaborate with partner campaigns and organizations.
The expected salary range for this position is $90,000-$100,000 annually before benefits and applicable withholdings, but salary is commensurate with experience.

Primary Responsibilities
- Overseeing and leading development of the DGA’s voice and visual brand;
- Developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy to build on the DGA’s brand, expand its reach, and raise the organization’s profile;
- Managing the DGA’s design, video and social media teams, providing up-to-the-minute feedback on creative projects and identifying opportunities for growth;
- Producing creative briefs for the DGA’s Content and Creative team and supervising creative approvals by internal and external stakeholders;
- Leading concepting and scriptwriting for the DGA’s digital video program, working with editors to shape videos in progress, and producing video shoots at DGA events;
- Working closely with Democratic gubernatorial campaigns to develop their creative and content programs, and leading production on creative requests from campaigns;
- Supporting other special projects, assignments, and tasks in collaboration with DGA leadership and other DGA departments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience leading successful creative and content operations for Democratic political campaigns, political committees, and/or like-minded organizations;
- Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate creative concepts clearly and concisely to organizational and campaign staff;
- Proven ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines and successfully project manage creative work from start to finish on schedule;
- Design or video production background a plus.

The DGA offices are based in downtown Washington, DC and staff are currently in a hybrid work protocol due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The DGA will work with potential candidates to schedule remote interviews and process on-boarding procedures remotely, if necessary.
