DeVries is seeking a creative talent that can develop big, breakthrough and truly innovative ideas, articulate those ideas with excitement and sell them to clients in a manner that keeps clients from playing it safe. A true conceptual thinker with the ability to think practically and tangibly when necessary to increase buy-in. The ideal candidate will be an omnichannel expert; unafraid to solve client challenges using all parts of the existing marketing communication mix and emerging technology as well. Concept development will range from mega brand ideas to more tactical social content and event ideas so flexibility is essential.
The Creative Director will partner with designers, content experts and producers to bring ideas to life. The CD will also input into the development of communication and tactical strategies, drive collaboration between creative, account and strategy team, and inspire teammates at all levels to exceed expectations. This individual will also provide the best in service and relationship management to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver creative concepts that solve client problems while strengthening clients' market distinction and leadership position and profile overall in their respective industries
- Generate innovative ideas across all existing and emerging digital platforms and inspire colleagues to create world-class, pioneering ideas
- Articulate and justify conceptual and design choices
- Guide, teach and mentor junior members of the Creative team in developing ideas further
- Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability
- Mentor and lead staff to maintain consistent creative quality and award-winning work
- Lead concept, creative development, and presentation of new business development efforts
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in a creative and conceptual leadership role
- Winning track record of ideas being sold-in and executed
- Beauty, luxury or female targeted brand experience a plus
- Demonstrated skill in copywriting
- Proven experience managing the creative development process in a client-services environment
- Strong ability to provide clear creative direction and provide timely, helpful feedback to improve creative processes and to keep work on budget and schedule
- Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities, both internal and client-facing
- Ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short and long-term needs
- Proven leadership skills with experience guiding large teams
- Proven mentoring and team-building skills
