About the Role

We are looking to bring on board a motivated and savvy content editor to oversee our content publishing needs in a fast-paced work environment. You will work with a team of content creators to curate compelling and engaging content for our users with the main duties involving proofreading and editing and analysing data to create a content strategy and implementing it. 

To excel in this role, you will need to have experience in developing and editing content, as well as excellent communication, managerial and organisational skills. 

What makes this role special?

  • Build. You’ll have your fingerprints all over Headout’s content marketing efforts. You’ll do whatever it takes to launch quickly, get 1% better every day, and scale something completely new. This means everything from high-level strategy to nitty-gritty operational details - from what cities or regions to launch next, to how long a title should be.
  • Own. Own the growth of organic traffic and revenue from a set of markets. Work closely with a team of writers to decide and manage the content pipeline; stay on top of, and scale what’s working; and contribute to the central playbook by creating and leading experiments.
  • Create. Research, pitch and execute new content initiatives that will drive traffic and engagement, directly translating to sales and brand promotion. Creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the planning, execution, optimisation, distribution, and amplification of Headout's content.
  • Lead. Manage a team of writers, illustrators, and data analysts. You will also collaborate with market owners, subject matter experts, designers, and other team members to produce a variety of content types, such as website content frameworks, long form content, blog posts, social media posts and videos.
  • Uncover. Measure the results of marketing activity to inform future marketing campaigns. Track and analyse the performance of these campaigns to continually optimise and improve the content marketing team’s efforts.

  • You’re unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous startup environments.
  • You’re a striker. This means you’re very goal-oriented. You're analytical enough to balance data and intuition, and you’ll navigate ups and downs in performance of the team, to somehow still meet your target, without compromising on quality.

 

Bonus

  • You have 5+ years of total experience working in digital content platforms, startups or fast-paced environments of which 2+ years would be in leading content marketing efforts
  • You have experience using data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of content campaigns. You have strong analytical skills and working knowledge of SEO to make data-driven decisions to improve and implement best practices for on-page optimization
  • You have experience managing a team in a fast-paced dynamic company
  • You have strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
