Communications and Social Media Executive

The role

We are seeking a Communications Executive to join our Brand & Comms team. This role is an opportunity for an early career communications professional to develop their knowledge and skills across the communications discipline - with a specific focus on social media. Based in our Riga office in Latvia, you will be working closely with the Brand & Comms team (most of whom are based in London) to support integrated brand and communication strategies. 

You will contribute to the implementation of our brand and communications strategies across social media, PR, thought leadership and sponsorship and be responsible for campaign reporting and tracking using a variety of tools including media monitoring, Google analytics and social media platforms.

Our remit is global, so you will get the opportunity to work on projects across multiple geographical markets including France, North America, Australia and the UK. 

The role reports into the Head of Social Media.

What excites you

General

  • Owning the internal Brand & Comms site - creating and maintaining content so it becomes a resource for all GeeCees
  • Assisting with the organisation and coordination of speaking opportunities and webinars
  • Analysing and reporting on the effectiveness of brand and comms initiatives on a monthly basis
  • Uploading and managing content on the GoCardless website

Social Media 

  • Managing social media content calendars
  • Assisting with the production of social media assets from ideation and briefing to working with designers and an external agency
  • Assisting with managing social media channels, e.g. scheduling and posting content, community management, customer service 
  • Writing and editing social media post copy
  • Liaising with the UK social media agency on content planning, production and reporting
  • Leading on a re-launch of the internal social sharing platform

PR 

  • Conducting a daily media scan and weekly reporting of GoCardless stories in the news; share both on company-wide Slack channels
  • Assisting on the maintenance of media lists, in conjunction with the PR agencies
  • Assisting in drafting press assets such as press releases, pitch emails, and surveys

What excites us

You’ll be passionate about marketing communications and a fast learner with an interest in disruptive technologies that are helping to create a better world for businesses. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English), attention to detail, strong project management skills, and creativity.
  • A related degree or equivalent work experience
  • Some experience in marketing, communications, or a related field 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment (virtually and office based), and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • The role has a global focus, so fluency in English is essential, but proficiency in French would also be welcomed.
